Privacy Policy

Overview

TempMailer (tempmailer.uk) provides a disposable, temporary email service. We are committed to full transparency about the data we handle — which is almost none. This Privacy Policy describes what little information passes through our systems and what happens to it.

What data we collect

We do not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII). Specifically:

• We do not require registration or account creation.
• We do not ask for your name, date of birth, phone number, or any other personal detail.
• We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
• We do not embed third-party trackers, analytics pixels, or ad networks.
• We do not log your IP address persistently or link it to your inbox sessions.

Temporary session data

When you use TempMailer, a temporary inbox session is created. This session consists of:

• A randomly generated email address (e.g. abc12345@tempmailer.uk)
• Any emails delivered to that address during the active session
• A session expiry timestamp (10 minutes from creation)

This data is stored temporarily in memory and is automatically and permanently deleted when the 10-minute timer expires or when you generate a new address. There is no archiving, no backup, and no way to recover deleted inboxes.

Email content

Emails delivered to a TempMailer inbox are visible to the session holder for the duration of the 10-minute window. We do not read, index, scan, or process the content of any emails for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose. All email content is deleted at session expiry.

Cookies & local storage

We use the browser's localStorage only to remember your light/dark theme preference. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers under any circumstances.

Third-party services

We do not share any data with third parties. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any similar tracking service. Our only external dependency is the delivery of email to our inboxes via standard mail server protocols (SMTP/IMAP), which is the technical mechanism that makes any email service work.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf under data protection laws such as GDPR or CCPA. If you have a concern, you are welcome to contact us and we will respond promptly.

Children

TempMailer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used the service in a way that raises a privacy concern, please contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of TempMailer constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
